Welcome Simon Darlington
This month we are delighted to welcome Simon Darlington on board as Sales Manager here at Anglia IT Solutions.
Raised just outside Attleborough, Simon has a life-long passion for IT and started his career as an IT engineer in North Devon, which very quickly transformed into IT sales, before starting his own company. He soon found himself selling IT solutions to large corporate customers such as Vodafone, 3i and O2, before reinventing the business to focus on selling Managed IT services to small and medium businesses.
Whilst other people had the same idea across the country, the concept was unique in the South West and the business really transformed and grew, before he sold to a national company.
Simon says : “I learned a great deal in those early years about clients’ expectations for their IT to never fail and it was then that I was bitten by the bug to work with small and medium businesses and really make a difference to their IT provision.”
Simon then had a very successful career in the South West growing and selling IT companies before returning to his home county of Norfolk, although he continued his career in London, working with small and medium enterprises in a highly competitive market where differentiating himself from other IT providers was critical.
After 10 years commuting, Simon finally started to look around in Norfolk and here at AITS we are delighted he is joining us as our Sales Manager, bringing his commercial and technical expertise and ensuring that we continue to offer an IT solution that is second to none in both provision and service.

His experience in Devon and Cornwall means he understands customers in Norfolk don’t want aggressive sales techniques but he also understands that IT is critical to most businesses today and has a great deal of experience and technical expertise which will enable him to support our clients. He is also passionate about the industry and ensuring he is knowledgeable about emerging technologies so he can help customers to understand what’s out there, how it will work for them and the benefits it will deliver.”
Simon adds : “Devon and Cornwall have a very similar demographic and client base to Norfolk so all those years of chasing tractors around country lanes to get to my customers has certainly not only paid dividends but it is now a very welcome return to my life and I look forward to getting started in this exciting new role.”
